Where Will Dead City Go In Season 2

Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan and Lauren Cohan as Maggie in Walking Dead Dead City

The Walking Dead: Dead City season 1 set up a scenario where Maggie needed Negan’s help to get back her kidnapped son Hershel, who was taken by an old ally of Negan’s named The Croat. But episode 5 unleashed a big twist when it revealed that Maggie was not telling Negan the whole truth about the nature of her desperate rescue mission. It turns out that Hershel being snatched was all part of a plan by The Croat to force Maggie to convince Negan to go with her to New York, so The Croat could get revenge on the man who shot his ear off.

By the end of episode 5, Negan’s young, mute friend Ginny had discovered Maggie’s lies, and set off to warn Negan. It seems that now a confrontation is coming between Maggie and Negan, that will get heated and violent. This all serves as a set-up for the now-confirmed The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2, which could turn the tables entirely on Maggie and Negan’s ever-shaky relationship, and see the two become full-on enemies. It remains to be seen how the complex dynamic between Maggie and Negan finally plays out, but fans now know there will be at least one more season for their story to evolve.
