As he s the student body of Nevermore Academy, Isaac Ordonez’s Pugsley Addams is confirmed to have supernatural powers in Wednesday season 2. Nevermore is an academy that specifically caters to “outcast” students, who each have supernatural powers that the school helps them explore and hone. Some of the outcast species at the school include psychics, werewolves, vampires, shapeshifters, gorgons, sirens, and Hydes, with the students each having different manifestations of their powers and abilities. While they do have some “normie” teachers, like Miss Thornhill in Wednesday season 1, the student body is made up of supernatural teens.

Pugsley didn’t have any known powers in Wednesday season 1, as it seemed he was too young to have them yet – explaining why he still attended a normie (non-supernatural) school. Wednesday Addams revealed that she began to experience her psychic visions around the time she turned 15 years old, which suggests that Pugsley similarly had his supernatural powers finally come to him shortly before Wednesday season 2. While Pugsley is now wearing the purple Nevermore uniform, Wednesday season 2’s behind-the-scenes video doesn’t reveal what powers the young Addams has.

With Pugsley finally getting his abilities, every Addams family member now has powers in Wednesday. However, it’s unclear whether Pugsley’s powers will manifest more similarly to the psychic abilities of his mother or his father. Wednesday inherited the same psychic gift and visions as Morticia, so it’s possible that Pugsley’s powers will mirror those of Gomez, though his supernatural abilities have yet to be revealed. Since Uncle Fester Addams has the unique ability to generate electric power, Pugsley could end up giving the Addamses an entirely new set of supernatural gifts.

The most likely case will be that Pugsley has some sort of psychic powers, which keep him in the same supernatural outcast species as his sister, parents, and ancestors. Though he’s younger than her, this would allow Wednesday and Pugsley to potentially attend some of the same classes at Nevermore, with Jenna Ortega’s character also being able to help teach her brother how to control and harness his powers. Wednesday has also seen teen characters with shape-shifting, invisibility, and telekinesis abilities, so Pugsley could have similarly unique powers when he arrives at Nevermore in season 2.

Wednesday Will Have Another Person She'll Feel Responsible For Amid Nevermore's Chaos

Pugsley ing the Nevermore Academy student body will change up the teen dynamics in Wednesday season 2. During Wednesday season 1, the only family member that Wednesday regularly had to interact with at Nevermore was her great-ancestor witch Goody Addams, who would appear to her in psychic visions. Her brother and parents were back at the Addams family mansion, with Uncle Fester only visiting her for one episode. With Pugsley around as a student, Wednesday season 2 gives a much bigger focus to the next generation of the Addamses and their influence at the school.

Additionally, Pugsley being at Nevermore raises the stakes for the dangers that the students will still face after defeating Joseph Crackstone in Wednesday season 1’s ending. During season 1, Wednesday becomes protective over her friends and bravely defends them from Crackstone’s evils. However, Wednesday will be far more protective over the safety of her little brother. If Wednesday’s enemies, such as her mysterious stalker, come after her in season 2, they’ll also inevitably try to go after Pugsley, giving the titular character more responsibility and potential vulnerabilities.

This change suggests viewers will get to see more of Catherine Zeta-Jones’ Morticia and Luis Guzmán’s Gomez as they come to visit their kids in Wednesday season 2.

Wednesday season 2 including both Pugsley and Wednesday as Nevermore students also suggests that the show will dive much deeper into the Addams family's lore at the school. Pugsley and Wednesday being together at school also gives the Netflix TV show more opportunities to show the more emotional, loving side of the titular character. Wednesday’s selflessness and affection for her younger brother was highlighted on a few macabre occasions in season 1, including when she had piranhas attack Pugsley’s bully in a pool and when the two siblings sat together while throwing grenades into a lake. Wednesday is fiercely protective of and loves Pugsley, so it’ll be exciting to see this side of her more often in Wednesday season 2 when they’re at Nevermore together.
