According to Poker, Rene won his first major live poker tournament in October 2022, traveling all the way to South America for the event. He claimed victory in the main event of the Americas Cardroom Enjoy Poker Tour in Punta Del Este, Uruguay, taking home $70,455, his biggest win to date. Rene was accompanied by his wife, Casey, and triumphed in a field of 340 entries that created a $329,800 prize pool. In May 2025, it was Casey’s turn to compete, as she played in the Ladies Event for Americas Cardroom in Uruguay and shared her experience on Instagram.

They described the card as the “centerpiece” and “crown jewel of the set.” It features a real piece of the knob (handle end) from a game-used racket by American tennis star Coco Gauff, along with her autograph. This combination makes it a rare and highly valuable piece of sports memorabilia for collectors.

Storage Wars stars Rene and Casey, known for their success in the world of storage auctions and poker, also own Bargain Hunters Thrift Store, located in Poway, California. Before becoming a reseller, Rene worked in the media industry. In an interview with eBay, he mentioned that while the job paid well, it wasn’t enjoyable. On the side, Rene was collecting and selling casino chips. By the age of 19, the Storage Wars star decided to leave media behind to pursue the excitement of swap meets, yard sales, and thrift stores, choosing ion over pressure from clients and employees.
