Today's Wordle Answer (October 21st #489)

Wordle 489 October 21st Attempt

The October 21st Wordle answer is GROVE.

Today's puzzle almost became a chain-guessing loss for us, for our starting Wordle word we used IRATE. This provided two beneficial letters in the correct position, 'R' and 'E'. Continuing on our second attempt was PRONE which locked in the second vowel 'O' and left us with a template that could be a multitude of words. Our third attempt was DROLE which proved to be incorrect as well.

The stress started to mount in our fourth and fifth attempts, CHROME and BROKE, both incorrect and neither getting us much closer to the correct answer. Before committing to the final guess we stopped and really focused on what was left. With the letters that had been removed, there were really only two viable options, FROZE and GROVE. Luckily, we chose GROVE and scored the Wordle win-in-six, a tense game this morning but enjoyable as always.
