Ted Danson's Netflix sitcom series has been renewed for season 2. Danson is best known for playing Sam Malone in the long-running sitcom Cheers, with Danson playing Sam throughout all 11 seasons that aired from 1982-1993. After Cheers concluded, Danson went on to play a variety of roles, including billionaire Arthur Frobisher in the legal drama Damages, a fictionalized version of himself in Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm, and the titular character in the CBS sitcom Becker.

In Michael Schur's popular NBC sitcom The Good Place, which aired from 2016-2020, Danson gained further recognition by playing the leading role of Michael. Danson's performance as Michael helped the show receive near-universal acclaim and led to him receiving multiple Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Leading Actor in a Comedy Series. After The Good Place ended, Danson starred in the NBC sitcom Mr. Mayor, which was canceled after one season.

The Series Has Been A Critical Streaming Hit

Danson's A Man on the Inside's reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, with the series being well-received by critics and general audiences, receiving a 95% Tomatometer score and 91% Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes. In addition to reuniting Danson and Schur, the comedy also features several actors from The Good Place.

The Good Place's Marc Evan Jackson, Eugene Cordero, and D'Arcy Carden are also in A Man on the Inside.

On X (formerly Twitter), Netflix has announced that A Man on the Inside has been renewed for season 2 and that the series will return in 2025. A Man on the Inside has been in Netflix's Global Top 10 for three consecutive weeks since the series first debuted on the streaming platform. It Is Rewarding To See The Series Continue

While A Man on the Inside's season 1 ending was satisfying, it also left room for further exploration with Charles being assigned a new case. The series not only tapped into The Good Place's humor and themes, but also filled a void for Netflix shows about older adults that has existed since Grace and Frankie concluded. Given these strengths, the remaining narrative potential, the positive reception, and the high viewership, it is for the best that Ted Danson's A Man on the Inside will continue. With a 2025 release window, the wait for season 2 will not be too long.
