Screen Rant had the absolute pleasure to chat with Adam Cole and Dr. Britt Baker about what to expect from AEW: All Access, Adam's first match back on AEW Dynamite on March 29th, taking AEW mainstream, who would play Adam Cole and Britt Baker in a movie, Cobra Kai, video games, reality shows, and much more.

Adam Cole & Dr. Britt Baker Go Behind-The-Scenes Of AEW: All Access

Adam Cole Britt Baker AEW Double or Nothing

Screen Rant: I want to ask you both about what I think is one of the greatest feuds in AEW, which is Adam Cole versus Tony Schiavone. Adam, what is your beef with Tony? He and Britt are just friends.

Adam Cole: Tony -- he's a little too comfortable for me. Between the way he interacts with Britt, between the way he looks at me -- I don't like the way Tony Schiavone even looks at me, honest to God. There's stuff about his face that just drives me up a wall. Other than that, though, I mean, everything's pretty simple. But yeah, I can't stand him.

Britt, how do you feel about that?

Britt Baker: It's hard for me because my bestie, Schiavone, and my boyfriend, the love of my life, they don't get along. They don't see eye to eye, so I'm constantly kind of the middleman here. But I think we're making progress. I really do. I think you know, give it another year or so. And we'll all be going out to dinner together.

I hope that happens. Speaking of Tony, Britt, I still love the promo when you called Tony "Mr. Starbucks." That was a breakthrough. That's when you really started to get over.

Britt Baker: That was actually the first heel promo I ever cut, on the Jericho Cruise. And that was kind of like the beginning of it all for me because I'd never been a heel before. And I think that's part of why I love Schiavone so much. He just really let me lean on him so much in finding myself and [my] character development and just being comfortable with the microphone.

Let's talk about AEW: All Access. We've seen Total Divas, we've seen Breaking Ground, and also Rhodes to the Top. How is AEW: All Access raising the bar for a pro wrestling reality series?

Britt Baker: I think it combines all of what you just said. But at the same time, it's totally different than what you just said. Because it really is All Access. We had the cameras with us everywhere at work, anything that was related to work, and a little bit at home. And above and beyond, really. And it was all real life, things that we were going through. And again, both at work and at home.

I think it's just such a unique cast too with myself and Adam, The Young Bucks and their story, and then Sammy and Tay. And then you have cameos from AEW stars throughout the entire show. Every episode, all you have to do is take a look in the background, [and] you'll see 5 or 10 people you know, and you're probably a huge fan of.

Adam Cole: For me personally, this is the most private that I've ever gotten when it comes to telling a story of mine on camera. The injuries that I went through were incredibly serious and something that I kept very close to home for a long time. Obviously, Britt knew, and my family knew exactly what was going on, [and] the AEW medical team. But to be able to capture that and show all the ups and the downs and have that all be on camera was really, really interesting, but also a really cool experience for me.

Between seeing the ups and downs that I've gone through, getting the chance to speak with some of my family , and things of that nature, it's definitely the most private, as far as a story, that I've shared before. And I'm excited to share it with everyone.

How long did the cameras follow you around for?

Adam Cole: They followed us around for a few months. There was quite a period of time with my recovery that I was going through [that] these cameras got to capture a lot of different things. So this has been going on for a while.

Britt Baker: It was a pretty eventful few months, obviously. And the cameras were there, they were everywhere. They were following you, [even] when you didn't even know it sometimes. And you kind of got so used to it that you didn't even realize. So I think it really is an inside look at everything that we do. Not only what we do, but the things that we go through that a lot of us have never really even talked about.

Were there times that you had to kick the cameras out? Where you were just like, "This is too much?"

Britt Baker: Yes and no, not really, because they were very respectful to [us] and protecting some of the magic of professional wrestling that we all know and love. But it's pretty real and raw, all of it. It's very what you see is what you get. And in a way, it's very unfiltered. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

Adam Cole: I feel like the best way to put it is exactly what Britt said. There was never a situation where we were like, "Okay, everyone needs to leave, you have to get out of here." But there were definitely times when I was like, "Oh, wow, okay, I'm gonna share a lot of information right now." And I was totally okay with that. So, yeah, they were around us quite a bit. You're definitely gonna see stuff that I don't think anyone's ever seen before, at least from me and Britt.

Adam, can you tell us a little bit about what we'll see in your incredible comeback story in All Access? And also, Britt, how you helped Adam through it all?

Adam Cole: I'm gonna speak very generally here, but it's mainly because I want the audience to be able to experience it for the first time. When I say this was the most challenging moment, in a lot of ways, of my entire life, I think a lot of that is captured. You're gonna see me at some low points. You'll see me at some very high points where I'm excited. Some family of mine are gonna have the chance to speak up. It's gonna be a very, very in-depth, inside look at my private life, and Britt's life, and what this entire process has been for the both of us. I know it sounds like a very general response, but seriously, tune into AEW: All Access. I promise no one's going to be disappointed.

Britt Baker: And on top of all of that, we filmed for it feels like hundreds and hundreds of hours. And we haven't seen the final cut, so we don't even know what will go in and what won't. [So there's] kind of a little bit of anxiety on that end, too. Because I don't even some of the stuff that we've filmed or that the cameras were with us for. We just don't know what's gonna be in it or not.

Adam, I was at the Kia Forum in January when you made your surprise return. I'm so excited for your first match back on AEW Dynamite right before All Access premieres. On the wrestling side, what can we expect to see from Adam Cole Bay Bay that you're back?

Adam Cole: Pro wrestling is something I love more than anything in the entire world. In April, it'll be 15 years that I've been in the pro wrestling industry. And the longest amount of time I was ever away, with the exception of this injury, was one month. So over a 15-year period, I was away from the ring and traveling and being on the road only for one month. Now I look at this entire recovery process, and I think about how long I was away and just how badly I couldn't wait to get back to work again.

There was a real scare there for a minute of whether I was even going to be able to come back in the first place. But when I knew that was possible, my excitement has gone through the roof. I've never lost my appreciation for this job, and how much I love doing what I do. But at the same time, in a lot of ways being given the second chance to go back and do what I love more than anything in the world has me incredibly excited. So I mean this wholeheartedly: On March 29th, the fans are gonna get the absolute best version of me that there's ever been, and I really believe that the ion and the motivation and the excitement to get back into that ring is at an all-time high for me.

I cannot wait. Honestly, I've also been waiting nine months for you to come back because you're one of my favorites. Britt, you are rightfully at the center of all the main event happenings in the women's division. Can you talk a little bit about what we'll see in All Access, like with Thunder Rosa? Also, happy belated anniversary on your Lights Out match.

Britt Baker: Thank you. That's a great question. I'm actually dying to know as well because I really don't know. I will say they filmed a lot of backstage content of everything that's been going on. And part of that did revolve around the AEW Women's Champion, the interim championship title, and just the ins and outs of that and how people were feeling backstage about it. But it's a lot because I do pride myself on being such an important part of the women's division. And I'm in like a ing role now, which is still important, because that's still a very important part of building up the women's division.

But it's been nice to kind of take a step back from not being the Women's Champion in the front and center of everything. But it still has just as many stresses as anything else, being a ing role. So you kind of get to see a little bit of that and everything, [and how] you kind of have to jump through hoops backstage at AEW whether you're front and center or off to the side. I really think All Access will help people appreciate the lives of professional wrestlers and everything that goes into live TV production.

Tay Conti Sammy Guevara

You mentioned Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo, who are also in All Access. They're another famous AEW couple. How would you compare your relationship to theirs?

Britt Baker: Oh, that's a great question. I think we are both very private, [and] I think moreso how we're similar is they kind of do their own thing behind the scenes, we do our own thing behind the scenes, and a lot of people aren't really in on what goes on at home. But as far as how we're different, they're obviously a very new couple. And they're both also somewhat young wrestlers, whereas our dynamic is like: Adam's been wrestling a long time. I get to learn a lot from him.

But I also get to be there and him along the way when he needs it. It's not that I can ever tell him how to wrestle better, or do this or that, but just being there for him in [All Access] with the ups and downs, it was just very different than what Sammy and Tay would be going through.

One of the things also I'm excited for about All Access is that it's a big step forward towards AEW moving more mainstream. On that note, Saraya had a movie about her life, Fighting With My Family, where Florence Pugh played her. So Britt and Adam, who would you want to play you in a movie?

Britt Baker: That's so good.

Adam Cole: God, what a great question. I'm only picking this guy because he's my favorite actor of all time, but I would want Leonardo DiCaprio to play Adam Cole. I think that would be that'd be amazing. He's the best.

Britt Baker: Maybe right now, and this is kind of like a hot topic pick, but Jenna Ortega. Just because she's so feisty and fiery, and I love her. I think she could actually do really well in the professional wrestling world. She gives me the vibe that she could definitely handle wrestling and dentistry and whatever else life would throw her way.

I love them both. Those are both amazing picks. I also have my own. For Adam, I'm thinking Joseph Quinn, who plays Eddie Munson on Stranger Things.

Britt Baker: Oh my god. That is like my biggest onscreen crush. I'm so happy you picked that. Yes!

Adam Cole: Great choice. Great choice.

I think he could really do it. And I think for Britt, Tory on Cobra Kai, Peyton List.

Britt: Yes! That would be great. I love Cobra Kai. I'm a huge fan. I'm friends with a lot of those guys, too. So that's a fantastic pick.

Britt, I know you're Cobra Kai. How can we get you in Cobra Kai season 6? I really want to manifest this.

Britt: Yeah, I think if and when it fits, it's right there. There's such a huge crossover between the Cobra Kai fan base and the professional wrestling fan base. And I realized that doing more of these comic cons, and gs, and meet and greets, because we do so many with the Cobra Kai cast and the actors. And it makes sense. I mean, it's combat fighting. It's storytelling. Why wouldn't they go together?

And I think, hey, if it works for the story, I am definitely in. I would love to be a part of it. I've been saying for a while now [that] I would love to help lead the charge with getting AEW into more mainstream media. I'm taking acting classes on the side, and I think we have so much talent in our roster. It's right there. Adam, for example, is very, very ionate about video games. He would love to do voiceover work for different video games and video game characters. Because there's so many of us that the ion's right there. We just kind of need the right doors to open, and it feels like we're getting so close.

Adam, speaking of video games, I know you love Halo. What about the Halo TV show on Paramount+? How do you feel about that? And maybe getting a role on that?

Adam Cole: Oh my god, yeah. Like Britt mentioned, I'm a massive, massive video game fan. I love the stories that they tell. I love so many different aspects of it. And specifically, like you mentioned, I absolutely love Halo. So, to me, the fact that Halo got to a point where they're able to have a television show is just a huge win across the board. I think more chances for more people to be exposed to that universe is very, very exciting for me as a massive fan of the franchise. But to answer your question, oh, my God, I would be thrilled and absolutely through the roof at the idea of getting to be on the Halo television show. That'd be super, super cool.

Yeah, absolutely. Also, maybe The Last of Us.

Britt Baker: We love Last of Us!

Adam Cole: What a show. What a show, man! Oh my god, it was so good!

Would you be interested in other reality show like The Amazing Race or Dancing with the Stars? Would you want to do that together?

Britt Baker: Oh my. Dancing with the Stars is my all-time favorite show. I've watched every season since season one. That is probably the ultimate goal more than anything, is to be on Dancing with the Stars. Because it's so fascinating to me that it's just people that we all know and love. And a lot of them have no dance experience. And we put them out there and expect them to be professional ballroom dancers. It's absolute madness. But it's fascinating. And I love it.

Adam Cole: With the exception of getting to do voiceover work within video games or being on like a video game TV show like Halo, The Last of Us, or The Witcher, I think my number one cool thing for me would be to be on the show Hot Ones. Where they eat the super spicy wings. I've been preparing and training.

Britt Baker: He buys the sauces.

Adam Cole: I do. I do. I absolutely love it.

I'll be honest, so do I. I love hot sauce. I have no limit to how hot a sauce can get. I also love Hot Ones.

Britt Baker: Well listen, I'm a big baby. We are night and day. He loves hot things. And I'm not so great with them. So him on Hot Ones and me on Hot Ones would probably be very interesting with the difference of how he would do versus how I would do.

I saw the video you guys both shared of the bear rubbing his back on the tree. So Adam, would you do that dance if you got on Dancing with the Stars?

Adam Cole: Oh, definitely something along those lines, for sure. I mean, that bear had some moves. I was so captivated by it when Britt showed me this video. So yeah, I would definitely do the bear dance, I think.

Britt Baker: Something that the world needs to see is Adam Cole in his element, dancing. Actually dancing, and breaking it down. It is nothing you would have ever expected and it's amazing. And actually, if we were on Dancing with the Stars together, I would be worried, I would be concerned, because he's that good of a dancer.
