About Justin Serrano

Justin is a Philadelphia native who graduated from Albright College with a degree in Film and Screenwriting. He is a cinephile with a ion for seeing how written narratives translate to the big screen. He has previously worked in Logistics for the Philadelphia Latino Arts & Film Festival and has also participated as a Script Reader for the New York Film Festival. 

Industry Focus

The appreciation Justin has for screenwriting has developed his approach to film and television analysis by focusing on plot structure. He takes a special emphasis on how it affects a character's growth along their story arc. He is most interested in studying how stories are built to challenge characters, and examining how a character responds to their obstacles to get a deeper understanding of their motivations.

Favorite Media

Justin's all-time favorite films and series consist of works like Interstellar, The Breakfast Club, The Leftovers, What We Do in The Shadows, and Blade Runner. When he isn't dissecting story structure or reading screenplays for fun, Justin enjoys collecting comic books of all kinds, but his favorite books are X-Men, Moon Knight, and anything related to Mister Miracle. Justin also has a deep love for the NBA and is a huge fan of the New York Knicks.
