Captain Marvel's future in the MCU and she has an idea for who Carol could team up with in a potential sequel.

During a press conference for Captain Marvel in Singapore, covered by ABC News, Larson was asked which superhero she'd like to team up with in Captain Marvel 2. Larson responded: “My dream would be that Ms. Marvel gets to come into play in the sequel.” Although Larson doesn't specifically state Kamala Khan, and other comic book characters have used that superhero mantle, Kamala is perhaps the most well known character to go by Ms. Marvel - other than Carol Danvers, of course. Kamala Khan co-creator, writer G. Willow Wilson, thanked Larson for the mention on Twitter.
Wilson created Kamala Khan along with Marvel Comics editors Sana Amanat and Stephen Wacker as well as artists Adrian Alphona and Jamie McKelvie in 2013. The character first appeared in the main Captain Marvel comics as a fan of Carol Danvers before being spun off into her own Ms. Marvel title, which debuted in 2014. Kamala is a Pakistani American teenager living in Jersey City, New Jersey who discovers she has superhuman powers and takes on the moniker of Ms. Marvel as a nod to her favorite superhero: Danvers' Captain Marvel.
The character of Kamala Khan is beloved and fans have been calling for her to be included in the MCU since she made her debut in the comics. Fans have come up with plenty of ways for Marvel Studios to include the character, from a Captain Marvel post-credits scene to using the Kevin Feige said they have plans for Ms. Marvel, though not until Captain Marvel makes her own introduction. After all, Kamala's origin story is directly tied to Carol Danvers, so the latter needs to the MCU before the former can - that is, of course, if Marvel Studios wants to keep Kamala Khan's comic backstory in tact.
No matter what, once Carol Danvers is officially introduced in the MCU and s the modern day fight against Thanos, she'll still be a key member of this movie franchise in Phase 4 and beyond. That means she'll likely get a sequel, and a Captain Marvel sequel would be a good opportunity for Marvel to bring Kamala Khan to life in live-action. The fans and Larson are already on board.
