EA Sports just released a trailer and some more info about the College Football 26. Apart from getting our first look at the game in action, we also now have some details about which game modes will be featured in the game. Anyone who played College Football 25 will likely be familiar with the new game's offerings.
Annual sports titles like College Football 26 live and die by the quality of their game modes, since their gameplay is largely unchanged from year to year. Sure, there were a lot of improvements made between NCAA Football 14 and College Football 25, but when you get down to the core gameplay, it's still largely the same. This makes sense, since the games can't exactly change how football is played, but it does mean EA needs to create interesting game modes to keep players interested.
Every Game Mode In College Football 26
College Football 26 Has The Same Four Modes As College Football 25
College Football 26 has four game modes confirmed so far. Dynasty, Road to Glory, College Football Ultimate Team and Road to the College Football Playoff modes have all returned from College Football 25. So far, there are no new game modes announced for College Football 26, but this doesn't mean that nothing has changed.

College Football 26 Reveal Trailer Is Here, Over 300 Real-World Coaches Confirmed Alongside Expanded Player Types & Abilities
EA Sports College Football 26 has been revealed, and the game is launching on July 10, and will feature over 300 coaches, new player types, and more.
EA Sports are introducing some new features to several of their existing game modes. Right now, it seems like Road to the College Football Playoff and College Football Ultimate Team will basically be the same as before, but there are some changes coming to Road to Glory and Dynasty. If you're new to College Football or just want to see what's new, I'll break down each of the game's modes in more detail below.
Dynasty Is College Football's Coaching Experience
Dynasty Lets You Recruit Players, Manage Your Team, And Try To Build A Successful Program Over Multiple Seasons
Dynasty mode puts you in the role of a college football team's head coach, and gives you full control over its decisions. This includes courting new talent from a list of high school prospects, looking for players through the transfer portal, and creating your own playbook. You can choose from one of the existing college teams already in College Football 26, or you can play with a custom-designed team from the game's Team Builder. College Football 26 is also adding a new feature called Dynamic Dealbreakers to Dynasty mode.
Although EA hasn't gone into too much detail about these just yet, Dynamic Dealbreakers appear to be a way to ensure your best players stick with your team. This will probably involve meeting certain requirements throughout the season to ensure your top talent doesn't leave for another school. Giving players more ways to ensure all their scouting efforts don't go to waste is a nice addition here.

After 30 Years, College Football 26's Deluxe Edition Cover Brings Back An Old Tradition
EA Sports College Football 26 is breaking a long-standing trend for the series by bringing back an old cover tradition that ended 30 years ago.
As always, you'll also be playing each of the team's games. Just like in multiplayer or quick play, you will pick plays and control the whole team. This is different from Road to Glory mode, where you just play as a single athlete.
Road To Glory Focuses On Student Athletes
You Play As A Custom Athlete In Road To Glory
In Road to Glory mode, you design a custom athlete to play as throughout their college career. In College Football 25's Road to Glory, you pick from several different backgrounds which determine your skill level. It sounds like this time around it might be slightly different, as you will be starting your career even earlier as a high school student. This is not dissimilar to how NBA 2K25 allowed you to play some pivotal games from your custom player's early career before ing the NBA.
According to EA's press release about College Football 26, you'll start Road to Glory mode by building a highlight tape in high school which will help you secure offers from your chosen schools. This makes it sound like you'll have to earn your spot on a good team and compete to be a starter instead of being able to just pick the background with the highest skill points. It's nice that the game is making this something you actually have to work for, but it does mean you'll want to practice some College Football 26 before starting Road to Glory.
Road To The College Football Playoff Format Features Online Progression
Road To The College Football Playoff Is Competitive Multiplayer
Road to the College Football Playoff is a competitive online mode where you take on other players to advance your rank. Once you collect enough wins, you can make it into the playoff bracket and have a shot at winning the National Championship. Interestingly enough, College Football 26's press release says that this is a "new mode," but there was already a Road to the College Football Playoff in College Football 25. This could mean that the mode has been redesigned in some way that makes EA consider it new.

EA Sports College Football 26 - Release Date, Pre-Order Bonuses, Editions, & Gameplay Details
EA Sports just announced the release date of College Football 26 and detailed the perks you can get from buying the different editions of the game.
In College Football 25's version, you are able to earn extra points towards your rank by playing as a lower-ranked team and creating an upset. This incentivizes players to mix up which teams they choose instead of all just grabbing the top schools. I'm hoping we see something similar this time around, as it's always nice to get a healthy mix of different teams in competitive modes. It would probably get a little dull if you were always just playing against Oregon or Ohio State.
College Football Ultimate Team Is About The Greats
Collect Cards For Current And Former College Football Stars To Assemble A Dream Team
College Football Ultimate Team, like Madden's Ultimate Team mode, is another online multiplayer mode where you attempt to build the best team you can with a mixture of current and former college football players. In theory, this mode should be a lot of fun, as it allows you to pit existing college prospects against younger versions of players like Patrick Mahomes. This is especially nice because there was a big gap between NCAA Football 14 and College Football 25 where some current players weren't represented in their college years.

I’m Worried College Football 26 Won’t Live Up To College Football 25’s Massive Success
College Football 25 was a huge win for EA Sports and a triumphant return for the franchise, so I'm not so sure College Football 26 can top it.
The main problem with Ultimate Team mode is that it includes a lot of frustrating monetization elements. You have to build your team out of player cards that you get from randomized packs, which can be slow to earn without putting real money into the game. Add to that the fact that College Football 26 is only on consoles, so you'll also need to pay for a subscription to PlayStation Plus or Game . That said, if you don't mind paying for it, Ultimate Team can be a good time.
