MCU characters I’m certain he could defeat. Wade Wilson is unpredictable, hilarious, and somehow manages to defeat people far outside his supposed weight class. While he often wins through unorthodox methods and sheer dumb luck, that’s part of the magic (and madness) of the Merc With a Mouth. While he might not be the strongest or smartest in the room, he's usually the most chaotic—and in the right scenario, that’s more than enough.
As of Deadpool & Wolverine, the Merc With a Mouth is officially in the MCU timeline. In the Fox films, Deadpool is a near-immortal, wisecracking mutant with enhanced strength, agility, and, most importantly, a healing factor that lets him recover from literally anything – including being torn in half. In the comics, Deadpool’s healing outpaces even Wolverine’s, and he’s skilled enough with weapons and martial arts to hold his own against A-listers.
10 Steve Rogers' Captain America
Deadpool Already Beat Cap Once – And The MCU Version Wouldn’t Fare Better
Steve Rogers is the heart of the Avengers and one of the most beloved heroes in the MCU, but when it comes to raw power, he’s not untouchable. While he has enhanced strength, reflexes, and stamina, he's still very much human. In the comics – specifically Deadpool #28 (2010) – Wade actually does beat Captain America, and that's against a Cap who’s just as principled and skilled as the MCU’s version.
Steve may be a tactical genius and a shield-wielding legend, but Deadpool's chaos factor, healing ability, and refusal to play fair would throw him completely off balance. The MCU Cap isn’t designed to kill his enemies, and that moral restraint is a weakness Wade would absolutely exploit. In a straight-up brawl or a guerrilla-style sneak attack, Deadpool's unkillable nature and dirty tricks would eventually wear the star-spangled Avenger down.
9 Doctor Strange
Magic Might Not Be Enough If You’re Caught Off Guard
Doctor Stephen Strange is undeniably one of the MCU’s most powerful characters. With the Time Stone gone, he’s had to rely solely on his Sorcerer Supreme training – but he’s still conjuring portals, astral forms, and reality-bending spells with ease. That said, Spider-Man: No Way Home made one thing clear: Strange can be thrown off if surprised, and he sometimes underestimates unpredictable opponents.
That’s basically Deadpool’s entire strategy. Wade isn’t going to stand still and let Strange recite spells; he’ll teleport via tech, sneak attack him mid-monologue, or maybe even break the fourth wall to disrupt magic entirely (he’s done weirder things in the comics). Add in Deadpool’s immunity to mind control and his tendency to improvise wildly, and the Sorcerer Supreme could find himself in real trouble.
8 Spider-Man
Spidey’s Strong – But He’d Hesitate, And Deadpool Wouldn’t
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man has gone up against aliens, Titans, and magical mayhem, but one thing he’s never faced is someone like Deadpool. Sure, Peter is stronger, faster, and can outsmart most foes – but his biggest strength (his heart) might be his biggest weakness against Wade. Deadpool has no rules. He fights dirty, uses distractions, and would absolutely pull a Bugs Bunny-style gag mid-fight just to get an edge.

6 Superhero Movies That Proved They Could Skip The Origin Story
Superhero movies are increasingly skipping origin stories and assuming audiences are already familiar with the characters, with some notable success.
Spider-Man is still a teenager with a strong moral com, and that means he'd hesitate when things got brutal. That’s all Deadpool needs. He’s not invincible, but he is unkillable, and he’ll keep coming even after being cut in half. In a fight, Spider-Man might land more hits – but Deadpool would play the long game, dragging it out until Peter slips up.
7 Smart Hulk
The Brains Are There – But The Rage? Not So Much
The fusion of Bruce Banner and the Hulk into "Smart Hulk" gave the MCU a version of the Green Goliath who’s got brains and brawn. While he's definitely powerful, he’s not the unstoppable force that Savage Hulk used to be. That version might've crushed Deadpool the same way Juggernaut did in Deadpool 2. However, Smart Hulk doesn’t seem as inclined to go all-out.

8 Hulk Stories In The MCU That Went Nowhere
The most frustrating thing about Hulk being sidelined in the MCU is how amazing plots were established that were completely abandoned or forgotten.
Deadpool thrives on chaos, and if he sees his opponent pulling punches or trying to reason things out, he’ll take advantage. Smart Hulk’s intellect makes him less impulsive and more cautious – two traits Deadpool would exploit with relentless attacks, surprise tactics, and probably a few intentionally infuriating jokes. Deadpool wouldn’t win through strength, but through endurance, dirty tricks, and a complete refusal to stay down or shut up.
6 The Winter Soldier
Even With The Super Soldier Serum, Bucky Wouldn’t Be Enough
The Winter Soldier is one of the most dangerous assassins in the MCU, with his bionic arm, enhanced reflexes, and cold precision. Yet, Bucky Barnes is still grounded in the limits of super-soldier biology. That’s bad news when going up against someone like Deadpool. Sure, Bucky can take a hit and deliver punishment, but Deadpool can take dozens of hits, lose limbs, get stabbed, and still keep talking.
The real problem for Bucky is that he fights to disable or subdue – Deadpool fights to annoy, confuse, and eventually obliterate. His unpredictability and self-healing body would likely throw Winter Soldier off-balance fast. Unless Bucky manages a kill shot immediately (which is nearly impossible with Wade), he’d eventually get worn down by the sheer relentlessness of Deadpool’s dirty fighting, constant banter, and refusal to die.
5 Thanos (Without The Infinity Gauntlet)
Without The Infinity Stones, Thanos Might Just Get Out-Crazied
With the Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos is practically unstoppable. Without it, he’s still an incredibly strong, experienced, and strategic fighter – but not invincible. While Thanos can hold his own in brutal combat (he did beat Hulk in Avengers: Infinity War), Deadpool plays by no rules. If Wade had access to his teleportation tech and his standard arsenal, his hit-and-run, laugh-and-kill tactics could eventually overwhelm the Mad Titan.
Thanos fights with control and measured brutality, but Deadpool thrives in chaos, sloppiness, and nonsense. He doesn’t just try to win – he tries to throw people completely off their game, and that might be Thanos’s biggest weakness. Without the power of the stones to immediately disintegrate Deadpool, it would be a war of attrition. In a long, messy fight, the one who keeps cracking jokes through a stab wound has the edge.
4 Agatha Harkness
A Sorceress Might Struggle Against Someone Who Can’t Stay Dead
Agatha Harkness is one of the most powerful witches in the MCU, as shown in WandaVision, where she went toe-to-toe with the Scarlet Witch. Yet her magic, like Strange’s, often relies on incantations, energy manipulation, and some level of mental control. That makes Deadpool a problem. First, his healing factor means many of her attacks – like blasts or curses – won’t keep him down.
Second, Wade’s fractured mind makes him nearly immune to psychic or emotional manipulation. Agatha could likely win if she traps him early, but that's a big if. If Wade gets the jump on her, he could just as easily stab, shoot, or grenade his way to victory before she has time to chant anything. Magic or not, if she gets a bullet to the head before speaking a word, it’s game over.
3 US Agent
Like Cap, But Meaner – Still Not Enough
John Walker, a.k.a. U.S. Agent, is one of the most dangerous non-powered threats in the MCU. He's strong, fast, and brutally efficient thanks to the Super Soldier Serum – but he's also reckless and emotionally unstable. In many ways, he’s a darker, more aggressive Captain America. That actually makes him even more vulnerable to Deadpool.
Unlike Cap, John Walker wouldn’t hesitate to kill. Yet Wade doesn’t just refuse to die – he turns every fight into a joke, a trap, or a surprise massacre. Walker’s strength might let him land a few punishing hits, but Deadpool’s healing would just shrug them off. Add in Wade’s twisted humor and tendency to turn opponents’ rage against them, and Walker would likely lose his cool fast – giving Deadpool exactly the window he needs.
2 Red Guardian
The Russian Super Soldier Wouldn’t Survive Deadpool’s Chaos
Red Guardian has the same basic super-soldier enhancements as Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes – enhanced strength, durability, and combat instincts – but he’s older, slower, and far less disciplined. He might be good in a brawl, but against Deadpool, brawling isn’t enough. Wade fights with unpredictability, self-repairing limbs, and a total disregard for convention.

Red Guardian Deserves To Be More Than Just Comedic Relief In The MCU
Red Guardian quickly became one of the MCU’s most entertaining characters, but I’m worried he won’t get the chance to live up to his full potential.
Red Guardian could throw Deadpool through a wall, sure – but then Wade would come back through the same wall with a katana, a grenade, or a live commentary on Alexei’s age. Deadpool has fought more brutal foes than this aging Soviet bruiser. Without a way to finish him for good, Red Guardian would end up confused, exhausted, and most likely impaled while Wade sings a Taylor Swift song mid-fight. The only thing possibly keeping him alive would be Wade’s weird affection for fellow washed-up weirdos.
1 Black Panther
A Close Fight – But Deadpool Would Eventually Cut Through
T’Challa is easily one of the most capable fighters in the MCU, with enhanced speed, strength, and agility thanks to the Heart-Shaped Herb – and his Vibranium suit makes him nearly indestructible. However, even the Black Panther can bleed, and Deadpool only needs a few opportunities. In a head-to-head fight, T’Challa or Shuri would almost certainly dominate the opening round, outmatching Wade in pure technique and power.
However, Deadpool doesn't play fair. He’d adapt, mock, and eventually annoy his way into finding an opening. Whether it’s exploiting a suit weakness, using teleportation tech, or simply letting himself be stabbed to land a kill shot, Wade would find a way. He doesn’t tire, doesn’t stop, and doesn’t care how regal his opponent is. Black Panther would push him to the edge, but Deadpool’s healing factor, dirty tricks, and unpredictability would eventually win out.
