Fortunately, that much changed during 2021's Summer Game Fest, which showcased the first official footage of the eagerly-awaited game in action. That very same reveal additionally featured a release date confirmation, which Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have since revised. Elden Ring will now launch in late February as opposed to its previously set January 2022 due date. The wait for the title's release is steadily drawing to a close, though, meaning more details will begin bubbling to the surface. And tomorrow should prove quite thrilling for those eager to receive another look at FromSoftware's open-world adventure.
Today, November 3, the Elden Ring Twitter shared news that is sure to excite many a future player. Bandai Namco Entertainment plans to host a 15-minute stream showcasing Elden Ring gameplay on Thursday, November 4. The stream will go live across the publisher's official Twitch and YouTube channels at 7:00 AM PDT, according to the social media post. Further details about what specifically will be shown during the 15-minute showing presently remain under wraps.
Tomorrow's broadcast couldn't come at a more opportune time given the imminent Closed Network Test that will run next week. The Closed Network Test for Elden Ring will span across five different sessions from Friday, November 12 through Sunday, November 14 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Registration for the testing phases ended earlier this week on November 1.
Elden Ring marks FromSoftware's third release since the launch of Dark Souls III in 2016. The storied Japanese studio is currently taking a break from the Souls series, but the DNA of the groundbreaking IP still appears woven within the fabric of more recent projects such as Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. And it's clear Elden Ring will similarly follow in Dark Souls' footsteps to a degree, though this particular adventure should prove a bit more accessible.
Elden Ring finally hits store shelves early next year on February 25, 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
