Development on PlayStation 5 exclusivity, those who lacked Sony's consoles have been forced to wait it out. Fortunately, Clive's adventure in Valisthea will soon be available on PC, presumably with a host of performance tweaks and graphical improvements.

Per Game Informer, producer Naoki Yoshida stated that the PC version of Final Fantasy XVI is in "the final stages of optimization right now," further confirming that the game will be in players' hands before the end of the year. Yoshida elaborates that the length of the remaining development time depends entirely on how long the team spends tweaking the game to determine the necessary system requirements needed to run the RPG. The producer concludes by noting that Final Fantasy XVI on PC will "obviously" require some hefty hardware to run at maximum settings.

While Yoshida didn't go so far as to reveal the kind of PC hardware requirements players will need at this stage, the producer did announce that before FFXVI launches for Steam and the Epic Games Store, Square Enix will put out a demo so fans can test their set-up. When this teaser will drop remains unknown but given that the time left before the port arrives is "less than a year" it's safe to assume it will be available within the next few months. In the meantime, players unwilling to wait any longer will just need to pick it up on PlayStation 5.

Whether these expansions will come bundled with Final Fantasy XVI on PC is currently unknown.
