Phoebe has always been the odd one out of the Friends group. Having previously been in prison, stabbed a cop, reportedly chased by Satan, and lived in the back of a burnt Buick for a long period of time, it's safe to say that she has had a slightly different life than the other Friends.

One of the characteristics the friends all share is their ability to say what's on the audience's minds, and Phoebe Buffay had a very particular way of doing just that.

When She Met Precious

Phoebe and Precious in Mikes apartment Friends

In season 10 episode 1, 'The One After Joey And Rachel Kiss', Phoebe meets Precious, Mike's current girlfriend. Mike hopes to break up with Precious but Precious ends up meeting Phoebe at his apartment. There are numerous times where Phoebe says exactly what fans are thinking.

One time is when Mike reveals her name to be Precious and Phoebe replies with "Is she a pure breed or did you pick her up at the pound?" Another is when Precious starts having a breakdown and Phoebe shouts and urges her to "Pull yourself together! Have some pride for the love of God!"

 I Went Too Far Didn't I

Phoebe and Monica with clunkers

In season 7 episode 8, 'The One Where Chandler Doesn't Like Dogs', Phoebe reveals that she has been keeping a dog named Clunkers in Monica and Chandler's apartment for some time without telling them. Chandler its that he hates dogs to everyone's judgment.

Chandler mistakenly thinks that he lost Clunkers by leaving the door open but when Phoebe makes up a story of how he returned she goes a bit too far past 'believable' by saying that she climbed up the fire escape and chapped on the window with her paw. As fans are watching Phoebe's story get more far-fetched with every word, Phoebe stops and says "I went too far didn't I?"

As it gets to the fourth time the laugh features in the episode, it ends up being less funny than the first couple of times, but Phoebe acknowledges this by saying "I think we killed it."

Oh No.

Friends Phoebe Oh No

One of Phoebe's signature catchphrases used throughout the show on many occasions. And they all have one thing in common, she uses the phrase exactly when everyone else is thinking it.

From many great moments such as accidentally telling Chandler that Monica went to lunch with Richard, and forgetting to put fuel in the taxi when the friends went on a ski trip, to when she was wrong about Tag being the father of Rachel's baby, Phoebe's "Oh no" moments were all times when fans were thinking the same thing.

You're Not Speaking French!

Phoebe tries to teach Joey French in Friends

In one of the most iconic friends episodes from season 10, ironically titled 'The One Where Joey Speaks French', Phoebe takes it upon herself to teach Joey French for an audition but not only does he struggle to pick it up, the words he uses sound nothing like what Phoebe is telling him to say.

When Phoebe is at her breaking point, Joey pushes her over the edge and she shouts "right but you're not...again...you...you're not SPEAKING FRENCH!!!" One of the many mysteries of Joey leaves fans wondering how he could possibly think he was speaking French.

As Phoebe mentions she essentially doesn't want The Fonz to deliver her babies, to which Ross replies "Well it's not that he IS the Fonz..." to which Phoebe in her current mental state, about to give birth to children, exclaims "Why are you defending him?!" That's definitely the last thing Phoebe needs.

Pick Up The Sock!

Phoebe yelling in Friends

Friends Season 5 Episode 24 Rachel Ross Married

Rachel tries to defend herself by saying that she isn't 'vanilla' and uses the fact that she got drunk and married in Vegas as an example of her wild behavior.

Both Phoebe and the audience are on the same page here as Phoebe clarifies that getting drunk and married "To Ross..." isn't exactly the best example of how 'wild' Rachel has been.
