What It Means For Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Tom Felton Will Get To Play An Adult Draco Malfoy
Thus far, no actor from the eight Harry Potter movies has appeared as their original character in the play, which makes Tom Felton's role a massive first for the show. As for the actor's thoughts on stepping back into the shoes of Harry Potter's former rival, Felton has expressed excitement about returning to a character he "let go" years ago, describing it as a "pinch-me situation" in a press release.
Being a part of the Harry Potter films has been one of the greatest honors of my life. ing this production will be a full-circle moment for me, because when I begin performances in Cursed Child this fall, I’ll also be the exact age Draco is in the play.
Because Harry Potter and the Cursed Child follows a story that takes place many years into the future of Harry Potter and his friends, the version of Draco Malfoy played by Felton will naturally be very different from the one he last portrayed in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. As Felton has acknowledged, he'll be playing a Draco Malfoy that matches his own age, allowing him to explore a side of the character not seen in his prior performances in the Harry Potter movies. After all, this Draco - as Felton has noted - is a father.

Although there has been some speculation as to the possibility of a Harry Potter and the Cursed Child movie adaptation, such a project has never been confirmed, and the prospect of any of the major actors coming back to their roles has seemed like a far-off scenario. That's why Tom Felton's involvement in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child comes as such a big surprise. ittedly, it may not come with the same level of excitement that a proper movie announcement would, yet Tom Felton's return is still sure to be a welcome sight.

Harry Potter Remake's New Hermione Granger Star Already Proved She's Perfect For The Role 2 Years Ago
HBO has cast a new young actor to play Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter remake, and her previous experience makes her uniquely qualified.
Having him in the cast will add a feeling of authenticity to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child's status as a continuation of the story. And, it's at least possible that with the play making efforts to bring Felton back into the fold, similar moves with other actors associated with the franchise may be in order as well.
