The Weasley family is probably the most important family in the Harry Potter franchise. There isn’t a family more important to Harry after he lost his own; we see them on screen in every film, and there are almost too many to count on both hands. If we were to move beyond to their huge extended family, we'd be here all day.

Despite their constant presence and the fact we love them all a lot, we can’t help but find flaws in each one. We’ve ranked the worst thing that each member of the ginger family ever did, from the inoffensive to the horrendously bad.

Charlie: We Didn’t See Much Of Him

Charlie was mentioned a fair few times in the Harry Potter franchise, and he showed up occasionally in the books. However, we simply didn’t see him in the flesh once—aside from a photo—in the films.

He could have been there when smuggling Norbert—or when the dragons were being delivered—but, no. This means that the worst thing about Charlie Weasley is simply that we never met him!

Bill: He Didn’t Defend His Wife

This random and unnecessary act of bullying from all of the girls towards Fleur Delacour was cut almost completely from then films. However, in the books, she was referred to as Phlegm by Ginny, Hermione, and Molly, and they were all very rude to her. Bill didn’t seem to notice this, and he never made an attempt to stick up for his wife.

Fred And George: Were Too Prank-Heavy

Fred and George were incredibly nice deep down. They gave up the Marauder’s Map to Harry because they thought he needed it more, and they decided to create a huge festival of fireworks to interrupt exams as a rebellion against Umbridge.

However, their over-the-top pranking was probably their only downside on the very rare occasion they took it a little far. For example, some of their strange magical sweets ended up causing some hard-to-reverse medical issues, and their constant apparition scared Molly Weasley a little too often.

Molly: Wouldn’t Let Harry Into Meetings

Molly Weasley from Harry Potter

Molly was a mother figure to Harry. She cared about him more than he could ever his own mother doing, and expressed more love in a single second than Petunia ever did in his lifetime. However, she took this is a little far during meetings of the Order Of The Phoenix. Harry was, after all, the Chosen One and one of the most important parts of the fight against Voldemort. Despite this, she didn’t let him into the meetings, which was a bad move on her part.

Arthur: Didn’t Trust Sirius Black At First

Harry Potter Arthur Weasley

You can forgive Arthur a little bit for this one because everyone around him thought the same thing, but, when Sirius Black escaped from Azkaban, he warned Harry to stay away, as he thought he was going to kill him.

Firstly, surely Arthur would question the idea of Sirius, the Potters’ best friend, betraying them? Also, you’d think he might try to help Harry out a bit by mentioning that very important fact?

Ginny: Was A Bit Two-Faced

Ginny did a lot of weird stuff during the Harry Potter franchise, and she was actually a rather flawed character on the whole. She randomly went from being too shy to speak to Harry to being very overtly in love with him. However, she was also often quite vocally rude to her brothers and overused hexes and jinxes in arguments. However, one of the worst things she ever did was tell people not to call Luna Lovegood Loony, just after accidentally being the first person—in the book, at least—to introduce her as such.

Ron: Got Angry At Harry Too Often

Ron might have been the comedic relief throughout the franchise and the only member of the main trio that fans consistently seemed to like, but he did have some issues with his temper.

In The Goblet Of Fire, he went on a tirade of hatred against Harry for not telling him that he put his name in the Goblet, and he completely unjustifiably disbelieved his friend when Harry said he didn’t do it. Don’t even get us started on that weird Deathly Hallows argument that saw Ron wander off into the woods.

Percy: Betrayed The Whole Family

Percy holds Harry and Cho Chang captive

The only member of the Weasley family to truly represent anything actually deep-down bad was Percy Weasley. Despite being surrounded by quite a cool family, he ended up being a pompous, arrogant snob who wanted nothing more than the utmost respect and power. He ended up betraying his family to work for a corrupt Ministry before sniveling his way back into their care when he was proven wrong.
