Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has done a fantastic job of replicating the spirit of the movies in video game form, receiving acclaim from fans and critics alike. Players will help Indy uncover a sinister plot that takes them all the way across the globe from the peaks of the Himalayas to the city streets of Shanghai. While each of The Great Circle's locations has a unique atmosphere and story, there is one location that holds some additional secrets for eagle-eyed players.

One of the very first stops on Indie's globe-trotting and record-breaking adventure will take him all the way to the Vatican City in Rome. Despite being one of the first major areas in The Great Circle, there's a plethora of side quests and hidden collectibles for players to uncover in the historic city. With The Great Circle's story expansion The Order of Giants being set in the same location, Rome, there's a chance some of the Vatican's secrets could shine a light on the mysterious plot of this DLC.

Deciphering The Vatican's Inspections Could Hint Toward Future DLC

The Great CIrcle's Vatican location is filled to the brim with secrets that range from collectibles and cats, to even an underground boxing ring. While these are great to discover on their own, there's one suspiciously named side quest that players should pay extra attention to. In "The Secrets Of Giants," players have to help Father Antonio find four inscryptions scattered around the map to progress the story, with the remaining six being an optional fieldwork quest.

There's a good chance this story will get expanded further in the Order of Giants DLC.

While this quest isn't too remarkable at first, its name is strikingly similar to the mysterious Order Of Giants story expansion, likely hinting at the themes of the DLC itself. Each of the 10 inscryptions follow a chronological story relating to the giants and other mythological entities that worked alongside or against the Vatican in ancient Roman mythology.

While the exact story of the Inscryptions is somewhat up to individual interpretation for now, there's a good chance this story will get expanded further in the Order of Giants DLC, with players uncovering the paranormal aspects of the Vatican's history in true Indiana Jones fashion.

Plenty Of Potential For The Future DLC Expansions

Taking Indy On To Never Before Seen Locales

With The Great Circle's ending leaving the door open for a continuation of Indy's story, there's plenty to be excited about, even beyond the Order of Giants expansion. Given The Great Circle was a massive success for publisher Bethesda, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Indy make a comeback in the form of additional DLC, or even a future sequel. As The Great Circle takes place in between the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, there's also the potential for fan-favorite characters to make a cameo, or even have their backstories explored in greater detail.

The most likely outcome for a future DLC setting would involve revisiting and expanding on a previously explored location, much like how The Order Of Giants takes place in Rome. Future spin-offs involving Indy tackling the mysteries of the Pyramids in Egypt or the Sukhothai temples of Thailand would make excellent settings to explore in more detail, greatly benefiting from their unique style and rich history.

While there are still no official details available yet about the planned expansion, it will likely follow a similar structure to the location- and chapter-based gameplay of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
