  • Goggins and Olyphant make clear that they still love and respect one another and wouldn't hesitate to work together again.

U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, following him as he returned to his home county and attempted to shut down various criminal enterprises. The show, which is based on source material from author Elmore Leonard, featured Goggins as Boyd Crowder, an acquaintance from Raylan's youth. Recently, reports have emerged that there was some friction on set between the two stars toward the end, though Olyphant has downplayed these rumors.

In a recent interview with the LA Times, Goggins similarly denies that any such feud existed between him and Olyphant while filming Justified. According to the actor, there were disagreements toward the end of the show's run, but these, for him, were to be expected with such a long-running creative endeavor. Check out Goggins' full comment below in which he makes his love for Olyphant very clear:

It’s so crazy. There is no feud. The ending of that show was hard emotionally, and people had different ways of dealing with it. It was a difficult goodbye and there were moments when we didn’t see eye to eye. But I would expect that from any long experience you care about. How can you go through an experience like that and not have a disagreement?

The truth is … Tim is a dear friend of mine, and someone I love like a brother. I respect him as an artist and an actor, probably more than anyone. He’s still untapped at what he has to offer. I love the man. And I know he loves me.

What Olyphant Has Said About The Rumored Walton Goggins Feud On Justified

There's No Bad Blood Between The Two Actors

Raylan (Timothy Olyphant) and Boyd (Walton Goggins) talking in Justified

Olyphant previously opened up a little more about the disagreements between him and Goggins on Justified during an interview with Vanity Fair. The actor revealed that there was some friction regarding how the series finale would play out. According to Olyphant, "Walt would say his character would never do that" to certain ideas presented by the writers. The actor itted in the same interview that they would "get really frustrated with each other."

Ultimately, though, Olyphant's comments in the article make clear that any disagreements he had with Goggins stemmed from a place of ion about their characters and about the show. The Justified cast spent years together as part of a project they all believed in and, as Olyphant puts it: "people have a hard time saying goodbye." Like Goggins, Olyphant assures that he still very much ires his costar and enjoyed working with him. This is made extra clear by the fact that Goggins reprised his role as Boyd for the Justified: City Primeval finale.

Justified: City Primeval is currently available to stream on Hulu.

The ending of the recent revival certainly paves the way for a larger comeback from Boyd, but Justified: City Primeval season 2 hasn't yet been confirmed. The show was generally well-reviewed, but it will be viewership that determines whether it returns. If Justified does come back, however, it certainly looks like Olyphant and Goggins would celebrate the opportunity to work together again and that this whole "feud" has been blown out of proportion.

There's 1 Other Way Olyphant & Goggins Could Reunite

Should Justified: City Primeval season 2 not move ahead at FX, there is one other way Olyphant and Goggins could find themselves reunited on screen together in the form of the in-development Fallout season 2. The latter stars in Prime Video's adaptation of the Bethesda video game franchise as Cooper Howard, a movie star in the era before the nuclear apocalypse, later transformed into the gunslinger bounty hunter simply known as The Ghoul.

Hidden among Fallout season 1's ensemble cast of characters was another Justified reunion for Goggins, with Mykelti Williamson appearing in the pilot as Honcho, a bounty hunter who revives The Ghoul in order to recruit him for a big job. Williamson previously starred in the FX show as Ellstin Limehouse, a fellow criminal boss in Noble's Holler who frequently runs afoul of Raylan and Boyd. While The Ghoul made quick work of Honcho, the gunslinger survived with his own plans, setting up his potential season 2 return.

Given Fallout season 2 looks to be setting up The Ghoul and Ella Purnell's Lucy to head to New Vegas, it seems like an opportunity rife for Goggins and Olyphant to have a proper Justified reunion after the former's cameo in City Primeval's finale. Olyphant has already expanded his TV prowess to other Western-themed shows, namely The Mandalorian, and with Fallout itself often skewing into said genre, it could be a strong capitalizing of the actor's talents to have him be a gunslinger foe for The Ghoul heading into season 2.
