Shōnen Jump's biggest titles like Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, and My Hero Academia all having concluded their stories and their respective anime adaptations not too far behind, Takeru Hokazono's hit new dark fantasy is all but poised to take the top stop, especially now with an anime now on the way.
According to information by the Japanese outlet Toyo Kezai, Kagurabachi will be receiving an anime adaptation by Cygames Pictures, best known for works like Blade Runner Blackout 2022 and The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls U149. At this time, no official word has come from Shueisha about a Kagurabachi anime, but all eyes are locked onto the publisher thanks to this report.
Kagurabachi May Finally Be Getting an Anime Adaptation
Kagurabachi's Rising Popularity More Than Calls For an Anime
While an official announcement is yet to be made, Kagurabachi under the Education and Entertainment section at the end of 2023, proving the intention to produce an anime of Kagurabachi has been around for quite some time.
Despite being a fairly new series, Kagurabachi already shows plenty of promise with the manga reaching 1.3 million copies in circulation within only five volumes at the end of November 2024. As such, Kagurabachi is ripe for an anime adaptation which would drive its popularity to the next level.
Kagurabachi’s Anime Is a Sure-Fire Success in the Making
In of its potential reception, Kagurabachi is all but sure to be a success among fans of major battle shōnen series like Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer. Its dark fantasy setting, compelling premise, and striking visuals are all but a recipe for a major hit if Cygames Pictures nails the execution.
Though they may seem to be an unexpected choice for Kagurabachi, Cygames Pictures does have quite a varied roster. CyberAgent has previously been a part of the production committee of many notable anime like Oshi no Ko and Liar Liar, with exciting releases like Apocalypse Hotel and The Summer Hikaru Died on the horizon for 2025 and hopefully, it won't be too long before Kagurabachi's anime officially s the roster.
