Ellie has been making appearances more frequently in recent Deadpool stories, so seeing her take her father's place is the ultimate ing of the torch for the hero.
Wade has fallen, and his daughter Ellie has taken up the mantle! Taskmaster continues her mercenary training, but what she really wants is vengeance. And to get that, she’ll need Princess’ help.

Marvel is Going To Kill Deadpool At The Most "Insane" Time Possible
Marvel Comics is kicking off an all-new story arc for Deadpool, and to celebrate, the first issue of the story will feature the death of Wade Wilson!
Ellie's Deadpool Outfit Keeps the Classics but Makes It Her Own
She Gives Her Dad's Iconic Suit a Nice Personal Touch
What's remarkable about the ultimate design for Ellie's take on Deadpool, shared in a more detailed final design by Taurin Clarke on X, is how much it pays homage to her father's run as the character. She still maintains a lot of what has made his suit one of the most iconic in Marvel history. From the mask with emotive eyes to the bright red spandex, it's almost like she put on her father's suit to take his place following his death. However, it's the little touches she makes that put it up there as one of the most unique designs for the character.
For starters, the red hood overtaking the mask is a nice switch-up for the character. It calls back to her mutant costume design where she donned a red hood over a black mask. On top of this, the brown coat adds a nice change in color to make her stand out in the crowd, which will make for nice visual flair during action sequences. Plus, with various blades at her disposal, she's clearly as ready as her father was to take on crime with her own weapons of choice to rival Deadpool's iconic katanas.
Wade's Daughter Becoming Deadpool Could Change the Comics Forever
She's Not Wade Wilson...and That's Okay
Perhaps the most heartbreaking thing about Ellie's rise as the new Deadpool is how it will affect her as she takes her father's place. The new age of her character has brought her and Wade closer together than ever before. Wade is shown trying to be a better father for her by dropping in, giving her gifts and more. To suddenly take him out of her life and wear his suit, there's bound to be some heavy drama that makes her first few issues difficult as she deals with the grief of losing him. However, it will be interesting to see her grow into the suit more as a character, making her dad proud by carrying on his legacy.
Ellie's rise as her father's replacement will officially begin on October 2nd, 2024 when Deadpool #7 hits comic stands. Wade has made a huge name for himself as the Merc with a Mouth over the years. However, with his time officially running out, his daughter is the perfect choice to become the new Deadpool and carry on what made her father so beloved by fans for decades.
