This author is annoyed about nothing and unnecessarily creating panic about quality of the season. Just because a single episode is being dropped every week does not mean there are no arcs and it's a case per week. All recent information suggests that there will be 3-4 arcs and it's not case per week. OC used to have an episode per week on NBC also and still had arcs. Only season 3 experimented briefly with case per week.

And it's only 8 weeks. If you want to binge watch, watch it post all episodes have been dropped. Simple.
