The fact the first matrix was a paradise plays into the machines seeming benovelence vs humans destructive streak including the otherwise unprovoked nuking of the machine City 01.

In The Animated Serries, ncc1701 entered the center of the Galaxy to find a realm where the laws of physics are different and a world called Megus Tu or 2. There technology ceased to function until an entity appearing as a satyr named Lucian reactivated it with his power.

The story parallels Star Trek V in a few ways as Lucian may have been the inspiration for the devil but that and the location of Megus Tu are the only real similarities.

There has been no real interest in reconciling the two stories. People are eager to ignore inconsistencies from the Cartoon and writers don't check them for cannon violations

I believe I heard the light side of the force depends on connections with other people. Not necessarily close people but comion and helping people of the Galaxy makes the light side stronger and gives the Jedi more power.
