A problem with season 8 is I'm not big on any of the major plot points. Dany going Mad Queen, Bran becoming King, Jon's parentage revelation all have little pay off that I'm interested in seeing. Even with more time to flesh the ideas out, none of it really strikes me as arcs I'd want to see, even with two more seasons to flesh things out. Two extra seasons isn't going to make the genetic determinism is Dany's madness play off well, or make me care about Jaime and Euron Greyjoy fighting over Cersei.
