I agree with most of the article author's thoughts on the performances. I am however, disappointed about the assessment of Grace's betrayal of her friends when she invited Remmick in. This scene has created quite a bit of discussion, almost as much as the "descendant" scene during Sammie's song. Women, who are mothers, in particular agreed that they understood how a mother could betray someone if her baby was at risk. It angered audiences , but almost everyone I spoke with said they understood the rationale. Most importantly, it made Grace even more realistic, even more human. I mean let's be real, ask ten people what they would do in similar circumstances, and nine of them would likely it they would do the same as Grace. My humble opinion, otherwise great article!

Good point. I just assumed that he used his memory to have it reconstructed. However, it could very have been an indication that he sold his soul to get his beloved instrument back. I mean his character is based off the real life blues legend Robert Johnson, who was alleged to have sold his soul to the devil to amplify his musical talent. Coogler impressed me with the quality of his research.

Yep, so bad that it reignited the franchise, made Dan Trachtenberg a household name, and gave Hulu it's most successful in-house sci-fi movie ever. If you're going to hate it, just it you hate it or say, in your opinion, Prey (not Pray) was a bad movie.

Predator films had women as the protagonists? That's one third of the films, hardly a takeover. Plus Prey was a well written, well acted film that reignited interest in the franchise, even you have to it that. I mean Badlands and the other live action film are being made as a direct result of the Prey film. She wasn't depicted as Superwoman, she simply outsmarted the predator.🤷🏿‍♂

I am going to have to disagree with the author of the article. Many people on this thread don't realize the source material for this series is sitting at about a quarter century old. Some viewers parents weren't born when the series was on television or alone the written stories. The love triangle brought things into the 21st century, but I don't feel it diluted the character. I do agree that Ortega should have more say as a young lady who is close in age to the character. Regardless, I am excited about season two.

I would love to see them produce a standalone based on the Dark Horse comics story about a female warrior who is adopted by a pack of predators. Great story that I believe could easily be adapted to the silver screen or the Hulu streaming platform.
