I think Nick truly loved June many of the decisions he made to keep her safe throughout the series were simply from a place of not wanting to see his daughter grow up in that world or the woman he loved and the mother of his child, harmed or worse. In the earlier part of the season many of the risks he took seemed to be based on those things from my perspective. There was always an undercurrent of hope in Nick that maybe somehow someday they'd be together? You could just see and feel that from him, either way, he never wanted anything bad to happen to June and would go to great lengths to protect her. I do believe in the end he was quite conflicted once his wife gave birth that seemed to tip the scales and he seemed to realize his decision to betray June to save himself was the last straw in that relationship. She would never choose him after that betrayal, while she has shown an exceptional forgiving nature throughout the series. There's also some things she finds are unforgivable. Just like all of us ? We all have those lines in the sand and commander Waterford most certainly got was he deserved in the end. In of character vs his role of having power. He chose the latter in the end and wasn't that a refreshing thing to see for a change. I'm just disappointed we had to say goodbye to one of my favorites ( Bradley,) you'll be missed in the testaments. I read something about devoted fans not wanting to watch it ? I'm looking forward to it ! Especially if June and Aunt Lydia and Serena are going to be a part of the show ! Yay ! Thanks for an incredible series, bravo to the entire cast and crew !
