The autor clearly forgot about the advertising budget which for a huge blockbuster is around 100 mil. So the budget is actualy around $250-280 mil. So the break even would be

$250*2-2.5=$500-$625 mil since the theathers taking roughly 50%. And that is on the low end.

So don't make stuff up.
