A YouTuber known for his forays into the hidden aspects of video games has once again turned his attention to Silent Hill universe, spotlighting the ghostly Lisa's unsettling behavior away from the view of the camera. The new, comprehensive Lisa video does well to make one of gaming's most enigmatic and downright scary characters even more terrifying.
PT was a first-person psychological horror game demo that served as a playable teaser (hence its name) for Silent Hills in 2014. The project was a collaboration between playable Silent Hills demo PT has continued garner the fascination and curiosity of gamers, especially since it's not available anymore.
The new exploration into Lisa's unseen movements is the work of Lance McDonald, whose previous access PT's outdoor map. McDonald's latest project is a 10-minute examination of Lisa's behavior when players can't see her and was made possible through camera hacks. This represents the most comprehensive look at the character and its bizarre, in-game machinations to date. Although Lisa seemingly stalks the player throughout PT, the ghost is only actually seen a handful of times throughout the demo.
McDonald's video comes in the wake of news that Silent Hills may not be dead after all. After five years of no news, rumors of multiple new Silent Hill games being in development began to circulate in January. More recently, speculation about Silent Hills specifically has heated up after Rely On Horror reported that Sony is working to revive the project with Kojima and Konami, in addition to rebooting the series as a whole.
Whether or not the Silent Hill series and Silent Hills are truly making a comeback remains to be seen. However, McDonald's continued exploration of PT is just one example of the impression those games have made on their fans, and while "less is more" can be reasonably be applied to the majority of horror movies and games, his latest revelations about Lisa somehow manage to make the character and the game PT itself even more unsettling. Hopefully, the latest Silent Hills video is just an appetizer for more scares to come.
