Here's Joel McHale's Community, starring Joel McHale and Gillian Jacobs. The series laid out his comic formula and is littered with endless movie and TV references and easter eggs.
Rick And Morty debuted on Adult Swim back in 2013 and is an animated sci-fi comedy. The show follows the titular grandfather/grandson duo on their various galaxy hopping adventures - many of which end in trauma, bloodshed or both. The series has run for four seasons thus far and has developed a devoted fanbase for its genre-blending humor and fantastic characters.
Mad Max-inspired post-apocalyptic dimension. Summer - who is having trouble processing her parent's divorce - takes well to this dimension's bleak, violent ways and s up with mutant gang the Death Stalkers.
Their leader is Hemorrhage, a muscle-bound, gruff-voiced raider with a helmet over his head. Joel McHale voices this Rick And Morty character, with Summer becoming attracted to him and his lifestyle. The visual look of Hemorrhage is very much inspired by Lord Humungus from Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, and he's initially portrayed as a one-note parody of the usual apocalyptic villain. He's later fleshed as a little more complex and insecure, especially when he takes off his helmet to reveal a pale, dweeby looking guy with a small mustache.
This doesn't stop him and Summer getting into a relationship, but he soon devolves into a lazy house husband once Rick brings some sense of civilization back to his society, and their spark is gone. Summer leaves Hemorrhage to go back to her own dimension, though the failure of their relationship helps her understand what went wrong with her parents. Joel McHale also did a great job with his Rick And Morty appearance, with Hemorrhage having the bluster and bloodlust of Humungus, despite being privately riddled with anxieties about his appearance.
