Most characters on the most hated characters on the show. As the seasons went by, he became increasingly intolerable and ridiculous.
There are a lot of things that simply don't add up about the show's biggest loser. He gets in all kinds of trouble, but he is actually incredibly lucky. Since he conned every single person he's ever met in his life, it's a real surprise he still has a family to turn to.
He's In Good Shape
Frank has been drunk and high for most of his life, but his health serves him surprisingly well, all things considered. Up until recently, he had all his wits about him.
He got himself in some sort of trouble in almost every episode, but he managed to get out of it unscathed.
Frank Once Had A Sponsor
Frank's opinion on AA programs was loud and clear: he absolutely despised them, unless there was some benefit to be had by attending the meetings.
He did once say, however, that his son Liam resembled his sponsor. The notion that Frank once had a sponsor makes no sense, or perhaps he was the lousiest sponsor in the entire world.
He Stopped Caring About His Children
Frank was never the father of the year, but he did seem to at least care about his children in the earlier seasons. As the story progressed and character arcs developed, Frank stopped caring about his kids completely. Why did he even bother to stick around then?
Frank cares so little about himself and his children that he even kind of dated his own daughter just to get her to donate him a kidney. Frank is low, but that level of wickedness is just beyond human comprehension.
He Works Against Fiona
It makes no sense that Frank would call the S on Fiona since she was the one doing Frank a huge favor by raising the rest of his kids. He also ruined her wedding and defied her when it came to the most basic things, such as taking care of the house.
But then again, Fiona let Frank walk all over her and never did anything drastic to keep him out of her life. Perhaps Frank knew that and kept on testing her boundaries.
He's Intelligent Enough To Get A Job, But Doesn't
Frank wasn't always a deadbeat. He studied psychology before he dropped out to be with Monica. There's no denying that Frank is one of the most intelligent people on the show, yet he refuses to put his wits to use to get ahead in life.
He's a resourceful man, but he's averse to playing by the rules.
He Didn't Follow Monica After She Left
Frank and Monica were one of the best couples on Shameless. The two were crazy about one another and if they didn't have a whole bunch of kids, one could argue they were a great couple; toxic, sure, but at least not harming anybody else but themselves.
He absolutely adored the mother of his children, yet he didn't follow her after she had left. It really makes no sense that Frank stayed behind since he clearly cared more about her than he did about their kids.
Women Find Him Attractive
Frank is an alcoholic who doesn't care about personal hygiene. People can probably smell him from miles away, yet there were quite a few ladies who weren't discouraged by his complete lack of grooming. Only for Sheila did Frank try to get his act together.
Some of the women he dated were just as damaged as he was, while others seemed to live more healthy lifestyles. It's particularly the latter who should have known better than to date a hopeless alcoholic who has no qualms about vomiting all over himself.
He's Somehow Still Alive
It's hard to believe that after years of substance abuse, homelessness, and various acts of violence, Frank Gallagher is still breathing. This man has been through more blackouts than he can count. One time, he woke up in Canada with absolutely no recollection of how he got there.
A man with this little regard for his own well-being would have probably frozen to death after ing out somewhere in real life. He slowly started showing signs of dementia or Alzheimer's. He forgot the most basic things, such as where he was and what school to take Franny to.
He Never Gets Caught
Frank Gallagher is the mastermind behind many ridiculous schemes, but he is never caught by the authorities. While his kids pay the price for their misdemeanors, Frank cruises by with no major consequences.
What also makes no sense is that the kids themselves never took steps to put their father away. They had tried punishing him by doing horrible things to him every once in a while, but that didn't really amount to much in the long run.
He Betrayed The Only Child Who Looked Up To Him
Carl looked the most up to Frank, but as Frank said in the very first episode, he didn't really know much about his youngest son.
It makes no sense that he betrayed him over and over again, considering Carl could have been his ally. Instead, Frank betrayed Carl and sent him to juvie.
