Of course, Robyn ended up being Kody's sole wife, as former wives Christine Brown, Janelle Brown and Meri Brown all left Kody within a few years. However, questions about Robyn's first marriage to David Jessop continue to swirl because, while Robyn has characterized her first marriage as very toxic, the real issue that led to their divorce may have been financial.

David was supposedly the one who ended up having to pay back his family , giving them the amount that Robyn allegedly took. These are allegations - not proof.

David's niece also insinuated that Robyn would spend so much money on clothing that she had to hide the designs in a shed, and slowly bring them into the house so her then-husband wouldn't notice. However, breakups get very messy and people don't always tell the truth. Before saying that Robyn spends too much money, proof is needed. Regardless, perhaps favoring Robyn's kids over the other wives' children.

While it isn't known for a fact that the Brown family paid off Robyn's exorbitant credit card debts that were around $32,000, as per an MSN report, it is known that Robyn was saddled with that debt coming into the Brown family. Starcasm and SoapDirt both reported that the family paid off her debts when she was trying to apply for a home loan during Sister Wives season 4, but without any ing documents, it is unclear whether this is true. They may have paid off a portion of the debts, or applied for settlements.

However, it's no secret that Kody and Robyn both enjoy the finer things in life, and recent reports about Robyn spending over $60,000 at Etsy, where she allegedly bought dolls and accessories, make it seem like Robyn's really into shopping. Since former wife Meri is preparing to lawyer up, to get her fair share of the Coyote property if it's sold, the family's fights over money are far from over.

In the meantime, media exposure regarding Robyn and Kody's spending could leave them feeling too exposed. Their spending habits may feel like a personal matter that's been made public. Perhaps the Sister Wives stars will become quieter about their financial lives. If they are, there may be less scrutiny moving forward.
