Fleabag is an incredible choice! I would have to say the two shows that have impacted my life the most are The Wire, which taught me so much about how the world works, particularly in urban areas, and Twin Peaks, which taught me what television could be capable of as an artistic medium.
The Departed is an awesome choice, and I feel like it often gets overlooked in Scorsese's filmography since it's not as thematically deep as his other movies. It's still just non-stop entertainment, though, and that has to be worth something. I'd go with The Godfather as my absolute favorite, however.
It's kind of unbelievable that we haven't had an exciting version of the Hulk in almost a decade. The fact that Mark Ruffalo's name wasn't listed among numerous castings for Avengers: Doomsday is upsetting, but hopefully, Secret Wars will offer the battle you're describing.
I understand your apprehension after those other games were cancelled, but I'm willing to give Insomniac the benefit of the doubt. Their Spider-Man games have been phenomenal, and I trust them to follow through with a project even if it takes time.
I completely agree with you. I can understand people saying it gets off to a slow start with the first few episodes, but I wouldn't say it's too dark. To each their own, but that's just the tone of the show, and there's some phenomenal storytelling in that series. I being blown away when I first watched "Two Boats and a Helicopter," which is the first Christopher Eccleston-focused episode in the show.
Both Wonder Woman and EA's Black Panther seemed to have similar premises, and I'm bummed we won't get either. Anything with the nemesis system or something like it paired with a beloved franchise or compelling world is going to pique my interest.
I'm going to go ahead and come clean that I really like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Or, at least, the extended cut. I'm not a big Zack Snyder fan in general, but I think the theatrical cut was just a poor representation of the movie he made.
I feel like, at this point, it would be pretty ridiculous not to have him wear the suit. I'm totally with you thatit was worthwhile for him not to wear the suit in Smallville, but a sequel show would really just be about Superman. I think seeing Clark grappling with what it means to wear a symbol and exist in such a public capacity could be fantastic, incorporating the humanity that made Smallville so great.
I'm totally with you on this one. I really enjoyed Abby's story in the games, and I also really enjoyed Kaitlyn Dever's limited scenes in the role this season. I can't wait to see what she and her ing cast can do with more time!
I'm completely with you on this one. It's been six years since Spider-Man,and there's nothing even remotely close aside from its own sequel. I want that same, immersive experience now for all of my favorite superheroes, and nothing really seems to suffice. Here's to hoping Wolverine or Iron-Man pan out.
I used to really love the Eta-2 Actis starfighters from Revenge of the Sith, but as I've gotten older, I appreciate the classic X-wing way more. The Millennium Falcon would be great to bring friends on, but if I'm driving somewhere by myself, it's gotta be an X-wing.
I really love the sleek, repainted armor, but my problem is the black clothing underneath. I think the white offsets his color palette much better, and the cleaner-looking armor would have looked even better with the original white attire underneath.
I was going to say Batman Beyond, though I think that would also be interesting to incorporate into a future DCU timeline, similar to how it was in Justice League Unlimited. Something like Kingdom Come on the big screen with an effort to mimic the original art style could be game-changing.
I think that the possibility is low right now, but it could increase significantly in a few years if Disney can get their Star Wars movie slate going successfully. In the same way Battlefront 2 featured characters from the sequel era, I can't imagine EA would miss out on the opportunity to capitalize on a Ryan Gosling starfighter pilot or a Grogu hero. There's so much popular new Star Wars media from which they can draw.
Definitely. Not only are creative constructs key to the fun of Green Lantern, but the aesthetic of the constructs is far better than the ones in the Ryan Reynolds movie. The 2011 movie had the right casting choices but poorly thought-out visuals.
I'd have to go with Nope. I think it's simultaneously his biggest and most subtle piece, with some of the most horrifying scenes I've seen in movies. Yet all the while it maintains the charm and humor of everything else he's written.
Plastic Man is a great idea; I've been hoping to see him in live-action for ages. Or Elongated Man, if they want to take a different route. Seeing someone like Ted Kord's Blue Beetle might be fun, especially if the DCU's primary Blue Beetle is going to be Jaime Reyes.
While I'd love to see some scenes of Superman kicking butt, I think it's fine for him to be relatively weakened aside from rare moments. Consider Justice League Unlimited's finale, for example, where Superman has his monologue about letting loose against Darkseid. Superman being extensively overpowered doesn't work as well in visual media as it does in comics, especially when attempting to suggest a need for other heroes. Plus, it makes the moments where he goes god-mode way more exciting.
I hadn't thought about this or seen this fan cast before, but I think it's a fantastic choice. I'd love to see him play a version of Cyclops that has a bit more swagger and isn't entirely overshadowed by Wolverine, which I think he'd be perfectly capable of.
I'd have to go with Batman Begins. I've always believed that the movie is drastically overshadowed by The Dark Knight, which has many virtues of its own and sets up a phenomenal trilogy. Nolan did a terrific job at making Batman's origins somewhat believable in a realistic setting.

I need Savage Hulk to return for one super important reason

What is the most disappointing scrapped Marvel or DC superhero game in recent years?
Both Wonder Woman and EA's Black Panther seemed to have similar premises, and I'm bummed we won't get either. Anything with the nemesis system or something like it paired with a beloved franchise or compelling world is going to pique my interest.
What movie has a terrible Rotten Tomatoes rating but is actually great?
I'm going to go ahead and come clean that I really like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Or, at least, the extended cut. I'm not a big Zack Snyder fan in general, but I think the theatrical cut was just a poor representation of the movie he made.
Should Tom Welling's Clark wear his Superman suit in the Smallville sequel show?

I can't believe EA scrapped the Black Panther game after all these years.

I want that same, immersive experience now for all of my favorite superheroes, and nothing really seems to suffice. Here's to hoping Wolverine or Iron-Man pan out.
If you could own any Star Wars ship, which one are you picking?
I used to really love the Eta-2 Actis starfighters from Revenge of the Sith, but as I've gotten older, I appreciate the classic X-wing way more. The Millennium Falcon would be great to bring friends on, but if I'm driving somewhere by myself, it's gotta be an X-wing.
Do you like Boba Fett's old armor in The Mandalorian season 2, or his repainted armor?
I really love the sleek, repainted armor, but my problem is the black clothing underneath. I think the white offsets his color palette much better, and the cleaner-looking armor would have looked even better with the original white attire underneath.
If you could pick any Elseworlds movie or television series, what woudl it be?
I was going to say Batman Beyond, though I think that would also be interesting to incorporate into a future DCU timeline, similar to how it was in Justice League Unlimited. Something like Kingdom Come on the big screen with an effort to mimic the original art style could be game-changing.
Okay, what are the odds Battlefront 3 actually becomes a reality?
I think that the possibility is low right now, but it could increase significantly in a few years if Disney can get their Star Wars movie slate going successfully. In the same way Battlefront 2 featured characters from the sequel era, I can't imagine EA would miss out on the opportunity to capitalize on a Ryan Gosling starfighter pilot or a Grogu hero. There's so much popular new Star Wars media from which they can draw.
Are Green Lantern's powers in the Superman movie trailer what Ryan Reynolds' movie was missing?
Definitely. Not only are creative constructs key to the fun of Green Lantern, but the aesthetic of the constructs is far better than the ones in the Ryan Reynolds movie. The 2011 movie had the right casting choices but poorly thought-out visuals.
Jordan Peele's horror movies ranked - which film is his best?
I'd have to go with Nope. I think it's simultaneously his biggest and most subtle piece, with some of the most horrifying scenes I've seen in movies. Yet all the while it maintains the charm and humor of everything else he's written.
Who else should the DCU's Justice Gang?
Plastic Man is a great idea; I've been hoping to see him in live-action for ages. Or Elongated Man, if they want to take a different route. Seeing someone like Ted Kord's Blue Beetle might be fun, especially if the DCU's primary Blue Beetle is going to be Jaime Reyes.
Does David Corenswet's Superman look weak in DC's new Superman movie?
While I'd love to see some scenes of Superman kicking butt, I think it's fine for him to be relatively weakened aside from rare moments. Consider Justice League Unlimited's finale, for example, where Superman has his monologue about letting loose against Darkseid. Superman being extensively overpowered doesn't work as well in visual media as it does in comics, especially when attempting to suggest a need for other heroes. Plus, it makes the moments where he goes god-mode way more exciting.
Should The White Lotus season 3's Patrick Schwarzenegger play the MCU's Cyclops?
I hadn't thought about this or seen this fan cast before, but I think it's a fantastic choice. I'd love to see him play a version of Cyclops that has a bit more swagger and isn't entirely overshadowed by Wolverine, which I think he'd be perfectly capable of.
Which live-action superhero has the best origin story?
I'd have to go with Batman Begins. I've always believed that the movie is drastically overshadowed by The Dark Knight, which has many virtues of its own and sets up a phenomenal trilogy. Nolan did a terrific job at making Batman's origins somewhat believable in a realistic setting.
